Biological
Monitoring and
Assessment Specialists, LLC (BioMaAS) is a minority/woman owned
biological consulting company specializing in a wide range of
environmental services. BioMaAS is certified by the state of California
as a small/micro business (SBE), a disadvantaged business enterprise
(DBE), by the CPUC as a minority business enterprise (MBE), and by the
county of Alameda as an emerging local business (SLEB).
Our staff is composed of biologists with
university degrees in wildlife, ecology, botany, entomology, and fisheries
biology. Our professionals hold permits from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
(USFWS) and the California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) to conduct
trapping surveys with threatened and endangered species such as San Francisco
garter snake (Thamnophis sirtalis
tetrataenia), giant garter snake
(Thamnophis
gigas), Alameda whipsnake (Masticophis lateralis euryxanthus), salt marsh
harvest mouse (Reithrodontomys
raviventris), California
red-legged frog (Rana aurora
draytonii), California tiger
salamander (Ambystoma
californiense), and Central-coast
(ESU) steelhead (Oncorynchus
mykiss).
In addition to our extensive experience in special status species
surveys, we also have expertise in environmental compliance monitoring,
site management, construction monitoring, biological assessments,
habitat restoration, mitigation design and monitoring, long-term
management plan development, CEQA, and GIS.
